Breaking: Research for Russian Anti-Trump Dossier Was Paid for by Clinton Campaign and DNC
Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee both funded research that led to the development of a discredited dossier about President Donald Trump’s connections to Russia, The Washington Post reported Tuesday.
The Post cited “people familiar with the matter” as its sources for the report.
The Post reported that Marc E. Elias, a lawyer representing the Clinton campaign and the DNC, retained the firm Fusion GPS to conduct the research. Fusion GP then hired Christopher Steele, a former British intelligence officer, to do the work.
Trump has furiously denied any of the salacious allegations in the dossier and recently tweeted that congressional investigations into Russia should make public the name of who paid for its development.
Officials behind the now discredited “Dossier” plead the Fifth. Justice Department and/or FBI should immediately release who paid for it.
