Germany: Running battles between police and protesters on eve of G20 Summit

At least 27 policemen were injured in clashes with anti-G20 Summit protesters in Hamburg on Friday.

The clashes took place in front of the Rote Flora building, a famous occupied building, where the protesters had set a pile of trash on fire.

Police deployed water cannons to extinguish the fire and to disperse the protesters, who responded throwing by bottles and stones. Several arrests were made in the process.

The G20 Summit is scheduled to take place on July 7-8 in the German port city.
