Orlando Bloom visits children in war torn Donbass region
Actor Orlando Bloom, a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF, visited the town of Slovyansk in the Donbass region of Ukraine. After the violent coup in Kiev, new self-proclaimed regime sent its troops to Donbass region to submit locals to the new regime. Many locals formed self-defense groups to stand up to the new illegal regime. Ukrainian army and nationalist battalions, after several months of shelling Slovyansk, finally captured the town. As a result of the shelling many buildings, including schools, are destroyed.
Today, Ukrainian regime is still of the offensive, trying to submit remaining towns in south-eastern Ukraine to its rule. Everyday Ukrainian army and nationalist battalions shell the city of Donetsk and nearby towns and several times a week Ukrainian fighters try to break through the defenses that locals set up to protect themselves from self-proclaimed Kiev regime.
