SYRIAN rebels have claimed 15 million more refugees could flee the war-torn country – because they are not being supported by Britain
A senior rebel commander said a lack of support from the West has led to Bashar al-Assad’s regime tightening its grip on Aleppo.
The US-trained rebels are losing ground daily in Syria’s largest city, with more than 500 people killed in the last fortnight
And it is feared the advance by Assad’s regime – backed by Russian air strikes and Iranian and Lebanese Hezbollah fighters – could make the refugee crisis worse.
Major Yasser Abdulrahim told the BBC the West has “abandoned” the rebels, saying: “The West is so scared of the [Islamic State] ghost they have chosen Bashar al-Assad.
